Flood Watch In Effect For Lehigh County

National Weather Service Says more than an inch of rain could cause flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Lehigh County effective from noon today until late tonight. More than an inch of rain may fall with percipitation coming in two batches - one batch through this morning followed by more rain later today into this evening. Scattered thunderstorms are also possible.

Low-lying and poor drainage areas are at greatest risk of flooding. Creeks and streams may overflow their banks. Rain will end around midnight but the flood risk extends into Tuesday when waterways will crest.

The forecast for Tuesday is sunny with a high of 44.
