Friendly's Still Closed After Wednesday Fire

The Friendly's restaurant at 6894 Hamilton Blvd. was apparently not open Thursday morning following Wednesday's electrical fire.

Friendly's Restaurant at 6894 Hamilton Blvd. apparently remained closed Thursday, as damage from a Wednesday morning fire is being cleaned up.

Repeated telephone calls on Thursday morning to the Friendly's garnered no answer.

Upper Macungie Township fire officials said the electrical fire was contained to a freezer unit.

However, a Friendly's employee said on Wednesday that it might take until Thursday, or even Friday, for the restaurant to open again.
