Goddard School Comes Before Planners Wednesday

The early childhood and preschool learning center has plans to open a location at 8236 Hamilton Blvd. in Breinigsville.

The Goddard School, an early childhood and preschool learning center, will present revised land development plans to the Upper Macungie Planning Commission Wednesday night.

According to township records, the company plans to develop a 1.9482-acre parcel of land. The proposed child-care facility would be a 13,219-square-foot building with 52 parking spaces.

The property is in a medium low density residential zoned area. A child-care facility is a permitted use in the area, provided that it is served by an arterial road, which in this instance, it is.

The commission will also consider a re-submission of a land development plan for located at the former Werley's Gulf service station at 5204 Tilghman St.

Township officials informed Patch in March  that all of the gas tanks have been removed from the site and gasoline won't be sold at the location, across from the entrance to the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

In February, owners Daniel and Patricia Kuhns were granted a variance by the Upper Macungie Zoning Hearing Board for a front-yard setback in order to construct an addition.

The commission will also hear a re-submission of driveway and parking improvement plans from Niagara Bottling, located at 7561 Industrial Blvd.

Also on the agenda are improvements to Schantz Road connected to the Parkland Field/Rabenold Farms project and the submission of plans for a Weis Gas-N-Go fuel station in Fogelsville.
