Keep Your Cars Locked, Police Tell Upper Macungie Residents

Upper Macungie police investigate a series of thefts from unlocked vehicles.

Another month, another warning from Upper Macungie police for residents to lock up their vehicles.

The latest one was prompted by a pair of thefts Friday and Saturday in Fogelsville.

In the first incident, police say someone went into an unlocked pick-up truck on the 8200 block of Countryside Lane on Friday and took a GPS unit.

In the second incident, someone took a black coat from a Jeep parked on the 1800 block of Pearl Court sometime between Friday night and Saturday. Inside the coat was a wallet, and inside the wallet were various bank and credit cards.

In October, police responded to six thefts from unlocked vehicles on Breinig Run Circle. And this isn't a new problem in the township.

Police issued warnings to residents last May after responding to four thefts in a single day.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 484-661-5911.
