Wounded Warriors Wants a 5K Race at Lone Lane Park
Upper Macungie Recreation Board recommends granting permits allowing a 5K race in the Spring to benefit Wounded Warriors.

The voted Thursday night to recommend the Board of Supervisors grant a permit to the Keystone Wounded Warriors for a 5K road race/1 mile walk on May 6, 2012 at Lone Lane Park.
Captain Sam Johnson of the U.S. Marine Reserve explained to the board that proceeds from the race would benefit military personnel injured on or after September 11, 2001.
Johnson told the board the group has sponsored several races in other locations and that the township would not need to provide any services on race day.

Preliminary information provided by Johnson noted race time at 10 a.m with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. Fees would stand at $25 in advance and $30 on race day.
Supervisors will act on the recreation board's request at its Nov. 3 meeting.
