Local Drivers Can Expect I-78 Delays This Week

Local drivers in the Upper Macungie Township and throughout Lehigh County will experience delays this week, particularly on Interstate 78.

PennDOT has announced the following road work schedule for the week:

Monday, April 25: Brush cutting work on Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township and Weisenberg Township, between exit 45 (Route 863) and exit 49 (Route 100) from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shoulder restrictions will be in force in the eastbound lanes.

Monday April 26-27: Sweeping work on Route 22 in South Whitehall and Whitehall at from Interstate 78 and Fullerton Ave., between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Eastbound lane restrictions will be in effect.

Tuesday, April 27: Sweeping work on Interstate 78 from the Lehigh County line to Route 412 in Hellertown, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eastbound lane restrictions will be in effect.
