Local Law Enforcement, Fire And Rescue Teams Shine
Dedication to their jobs and public safety is the reason we can rest easy at night.

There's been a pretty hefty amount of distressing news in these parts over the last few weeks and months.
A in Alburtis. A in Lower Macungie.
A in Lowhill Township. A claiming the life of a prominent area businessman.

That's in addition to the fatal in February.
All shocking and saddening. However, believe it or not, there is one constant positive thread that weaves through all of these events.

That's the amazing response, professionalism and dedication of our local law enforcement, fire departments, emergency service responders and medical crews throughout Lehigh County.
These professionals -- and in some cases volunteers -- are largely taken for granted by the public at large. We don't think about the countless hours they spend training for the types of emergencies and crime investigations that have unfolded in Lehigh County during the first three months of the year.
Police, detectives, investigator, fire departments, EMS and medical/rescue crews responded in tremendous fashion in every one of the situations mentioned above.
Victims were rescued. Crimes were solved. And, it's all in a day's work for these people, who toil in anonymity 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
And, we only seem to recognize them either when we need them or when high-profile cases hit the news.
My hat is off to all of them, because their dedication to public safety and service is the reason we can all rest easy at night.
