Mystery of Fogelsville Artillery Solved
We found what looked like heavy artillery on the lawn of a home in Fogelsville, but experts revealed that it is really yard art.
Last week, Patch stopped by the home on Main Street west of Fogelsville recentlyand found what looked like a military display of heavy artillery.
No one answered the door when we tried to discover more information, so we sent a note out to the military experts at AllExperts.com. This is what we found:
Answer:
"They are the figment of some creative welders imagination. They are not real artillery pieces. They are decorative yard art. The barrel on the large one is obviously welded in place, as are the other components below it. They are all affixed to a large metal box. There are no moving recoil mechanisms. The barrel does not have any interior rifling either.
The barrel joint on the smaller one is even more obvious, and the barrel shape makes no sense for a real artillery piece.
They are no more real than a plastic pink flamingo you see in peoples yards."
