Parkland Athletes Sign College Letters of Intent

Eleven Trojan athletes commit to their college choices on National Letter of Intent Day.

Eleven elite student athletes signed letters of intent to attend colleges on athletic and academic scholarships Wednesday at the high school gymnasium.

Their parents looked on proudly as each had their accomplishments read aloud by their respective coaches and then stepped to the table to sign their names on the dotted line on National Letter of Intent Day.

The scholar-athletes are:

Rob Dvoracek, a football player who accepted a full scholarship to Temple University.

Dvoracek was the winner of the Lehigh Valley Conference Most Valuable Player as a linebacker. He also plays basketball for the Trojans.

He will enter Temple with a undeclared major, but looks forward to attending Temple and playing for the football team.

Christine Hollan is a Parkland soccer player who will continue her education ar Bloomsburg University next fall where she has accepted a partial scholarship.

Hollan helped lead the Trojans to the 2011 District 11 championship, the 2010 D-11 finals and the 2010 LVC finals.

Christine is interested in pursuing speech pathology.

Matthew Hurd is a Parkland baseball player who will continue his education at Bloomsburg University, where he accepted a partial scholarship.

Hurd helped the Trojans win the 2011 LVC championship and pitched and won the semifinal game. He had a 4-1 varsity record and an 8-0 JV record the year prior.

Hurd plans to pursue a business degree.

Matt Laub is a Parkland football player who will attend Lehigh University next year on a partial academic scholarship.

Laub served as captain, won first-team all LVC honors and was named defensive MVP. In addition to playing football, Hurd also plays lacrosse.

He plans to major in business.

Erica Reifinger is a Parkland swimmer who will attend James Madison University in Virginia next year on a partial athletic scholarship.

She won the 2011 LVC swimmer of the year award, was the District 11 swimmer of the meet, a district champion and won a state medal.

She plans to major in business administration.

Nicholas Robasco will continue his education at the New Jersey Institute of Technology where he has accepted a partial athletic scholarship.

Robasco was part of the Parkland's 2011 LVC championship team and is very excited to play for a Division I program.

Brittney Schlechter has accepted a partial athletic scholarship to Kutztown University.

The field hockey player helped lead the Trojans to a second place finish against Emmaus in the District 11 finals during the 2010-2011 season.

She plans to pursue a BSBA in Marketing and looks forward to playing for a Division II program.

Parkland lacrosse player Andrew Seip will attend Mars Hills College in North Carolina next fall, where he received a partial athletic and athletic scholarship.

Seip won the "most improved award" during his time playing lacrosse at Parkland.

He plans to pursue a degree in Business Administration.

Lauren Seibert, a Parkland volleyball player, accepted a full athletic scholarship at Canisius College in New York

She helped lead the Trojans to a state championship this past fall.

She plans to declare a major in communications with a focus on media and a minor in psychology.

Emily Stang, a Parkland swimmer, will continue her education at West Chester University next fall on a partial athletic scholarship.

Stang won District 11 gold medals in her sophomore and junior years and is proud of going to the state championships three consecutive years.

She plans to major in Special Education.

Parkland field hockey player Kelley Stump will attend Northwestern University next year on a full athletic scholarship.

During her time at Parkland, the field hockey team was first team All-State in 2010 and 2011.

She plans to major in Biology and pursue a career in healthcare.
