Parkland Defeats Easton in Soccer Final, 5-0

Parkland boys soccer, 16-4 for the season, beat Easton (11-8) last night at the Lehigh Valley Conference championship game.

Patrick Birns, in his first season as boys varsity soccer coach, took the team to the  Lehigh Valley Conference championship Thursday night.

The Trojans beat Easton's Red Rover 5-0 and will move on to districts. And even with some players out due to injuries, the Trojans easily beat Easton, according to the Express Times.

Birns inherited a young soccer club with two seniors, 12 juniors and one sophomore returning from a 14-6-1 season lst year.

The Trojans fell to Emmaus twice, including a 1-0 loss in the 2010 Lehigh Valley Conference tournament and fell to Easton in the second round of the District 11 playoffs.

But it was different this year. In a surprising upset, Easton beat Emmaus to take on parkland in the final conference game. You can watch a short interview with coach Birns on WFMZ.
