Parkland Festival of the Arts Continues Through Saturday
Parkland's 10th annual Festival of the Arts features high school students and community members taking part in visual and performing arts.
Parkland's annual three-day Festival of the Arts begins Thursday on the grounds of the high school, offering the public a mix of arts and entertainment, including a student art show, spring chorus concert, a battle of the bands, the Parkland's Got Talent competition and dance showcase.

Thursday, May 16

- Parkland High School Student Art Show from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Parkland High School art suite. Free admission.
- The 4th Annual Family & Consumer Science Art of Living Show from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There will be free food tastings and fashion displays, compliments of Family & Consumer Science students.
- Parkland High School's Spring Chorus Concert at the Parkland High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. Free admission.
Friday, May 17
- Battle of the Bands at 6:30 p.m. in the Parkland High School cafeteria with Parkland High School student bands competing for their peers' votes for best high school band. Admission is $5 with tickets available at the door.
- The Parkland's Got Talent competition at the Parkland High School auditorium at 7 p.m. Admission is $5.
Saturday, May 18

- Artists on the Quad at Parkland High School Quad with kiosks on the high school lawn filled with art, food, entertainment and local crafters. Festivities get under way at 10 a.m.Â
- Dance Showcase at Parkland High School Auditorium from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Free admission.
