Parkland Goes For The Freddys Tonight

Its production of "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," is up for 15 awards tonight at the State Theatre in Easton.

Tonight is the night that Parkland High School's thespians have anxiously awaited for two weeks.

The Freddy Awards will be handed out at the State Theatre in Easton. Parkland is nominated for 15 awards for its production of

The nominations include Outstanding Show, Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actress (Morgan Reilly) and two Outstanding Performance nominatons by a Lead Actor from Joshua Rice and Ben Mays. It's the first time that's occurred in the eight-year history of the awards. Video clips from the production are embedded in this article.

The Freddy Awards will be telecast live on WFMZ-TV at 7 p.m. Several cast members will perform numbers from the show during the telecast.

-- Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actress: Megan Stefanowicz

-- Outstanding Production Number: "Great Big Stuff."

-- Outstanding Performance by a Female Ensemble Member: Payton Sherry

-- Best Small Ensemble Performance: Joshua Rice, Ben Mays and Payton Sherry

-- Outstanding Lighting

-- Outstanding Choreography

-- Outstanding Chorus

-- Outstanding Scenery

-- Outstanding Use of Costumes

-- Outstanding Orchestra

-- Outstanding Stage Crew

Also entering the competition with a high number of nominations are Emmaus High School (16 nominations) and Freedom High School (15 nominations.)
