Parkland Softball Fighting for LVC Tournament Berth

The Trojan softball team already has a District 11 playoff berth sewn up, but its final two Lehigh Valley Conference games will determine if it qualifies for the LVC tourney. The Parkland coaching staff says the season has been a successful one.

The final week of the regular season in high school softball finds the Parkland High School squad fighting for a berth in the Lehigh Valley Conference playoffs.

Games against LVC North Division leader Northampton and the season finale against Whitehall on Thursday will determine the Trojans' postseason conference fate.

However, a 14-4 overall record and a 9-3 conference record have sewn up a District 11 playoff berth later this month.

The coaching staff, led by head coach Barry Search, said that the Parkland girls have competed hard and that the overall season is considered a success.

Patch was on hand at Monday's practice to watch the Trojan softball team prepare for its final two regular-season games.
