The List: Five Things To Do With That Extra Hour Of Daylight
● Clean Out The Car: It's been a long winter. If your car looks anything like mine, the mats are full of dirt from salt and anti-skid. Plus, I'm sure you've got empty take out coffee cups in the car. I'll use that extra hour of daylight to clean the inside of the car. The car wash will take care of the rest. And, put the ice scraper back in the trunk!
● The After-Dinner Walk: I've missed this one. I've put on pounds as a result. It's good exercise, helps digestion and gets your muscles moving. Plus, it's an opportunity to talk with your neighbors who are doing the same thing.
● Play catch outside with the kids. That's what my Dad did with me. OK, if that's not your thing, kick a soccer ball around. Or, get the bicycles out. Whatever your prefer, it's an extra hour to spend time with the kids outdoors.

● Put away the shovels and take out the lawn furniture. Task that are symbolic and good for the soul at the same time. And, while your at it, you may want to see if the barbecue is in working order.
● Start getting the yard in shape. The rough winter took a toll on lawns, gardens, trees and branches. Utilize that extra hour per day to start getting the yard in shape. Before you know it -- and how time flies -- it will be time to start buying peat moss, fertilizer and other garden items. Use the time to get a head start.
And -- don't forget to check the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms Saturday night.
