Police Chief: Keep Cars Locked, Garage Doors Down

Upper Macungie Police Chief Edgardo Colon says he's also looking for feedback as to what's of interest to the community.

Upper Macungie Police Chief Edgardo Colon reminded residents to keep cars locked and garage doors down as safety precautions during Thursday night's Upper Macungie Supervisors meeting.

Colon called recent thefts of items from cars a crime of opportunity.

"Lock your cars, keep your windows up," he said. "If you have a GPS in the car, take it out. Secure your valuables, like laptops and TVs."
