Police Department Joins 'Twitterverse'

The Upper Macungie Police Department has launched itself full-steam into the land of Twitter.

The department tweeted its first official notice over the weekend from Sgt. Peter Nickischer with the handle @UMTPDSergeant.

The department said the Twitter feed will allow followers to get a first-hand look into policing in Upper Macungie Township.

The department says it hopes to roll out additional feeds from Police Officer Pamela Mathias and Detective Adam Miller in the near future.
