Summer Family Fishing Events are Bonding Time
Family fishing events in Upper Macungie Township are scheduled for June 8 and July 20 at 9 a.m. at the Ponds at Apple Park.

Upper Macungie Township's family fishing programs, scheduled for Saturday, June 8 and Saturday, July 20 at 9 a.m., are a great way for parents and children to bond over a sporting excercise.
The events, held at the Ponds at Apple Park in Fogelsville, is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission.
The family fishing program is a four-hour educational fishing program designed to introduce or reintroduce families to the joy of the sport.

Half of the program is educational, including knot tying, rules and regulations, casting practice, gear and tackle guidance.Â
The second half of the program is the fishing experience, which will be catch and release and license exempt. Children must bring a parent.

Everyone learns and fishes together as a family to understand how this activity can be used for bonding time.
THINGS TO KNOW:
- The program is free but registration is necessary.
- Participants must be Upper Macungie residents.
- Size is limited to 20 participants.
- Children must be at least eight years old.
- The PFBC will provide all tackle and fishing equipment.
- Participants must bring bait -- worms, corn or hot dogs.
- Restroooms are available.
