Sunday Best: Go Swimming and Play Miniature Golf

Sunday's National Weather Service forecast is for sunny skies with highs in the low 70s. A perfect day to spend outdoors with the family. We've got quite a few ways for you to get out and enjoy a wonderful Sunday in and around Upper Macungie.

• The Terry Hill Water Park, located at 10000 Hamilton Boulevard, is open from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. The park offers fun for the whole family featuring rainbow slides, a Wild River, a Lazee River, a Tarzan rope and a diving board. The park also features a miniature golf course. Amenities include free use of picnic tables and lounge chairs as well as hot showers and parking. A refreshment stand sells ice cream, hot dogs, hamburgers, snow cones, sodas and iced tea.

• Liber-tee Miniature Golf Course, at 7720 Adrienne Drive in Breinigsville, is another place to play a game of miniature golf and enjoy some ice cream afterwards. The park is open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

• Kids eat free Sunday at the Buckeye Tavern, located at 3741 Brookside Road in Macungie.

• The nearby Lehigh Valley Zoo in Schnecksville is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

• Everybody loves free. The nearby Allentown Art Museum is free to all on Sunday. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. 

• Go see some gross stuff. "Grossology," is featured at the DaVinci Science Center in Allentown Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. 

• Sunday features practice runs for the Rodale Community Challenge, beginning at 3 p.m. at  Valley Preferred Cycling Center, located at 1151 Mosser Road in Breinigsville.

• Das Awkscht Fescht ends its three-day run Sunday at Macungie Memorial Park. Gates open at 6 a.m. for walk-in visitors. The flea market runs through dusk, and arts & crafts vendors are open until 9 p.m. Classic cars are on display. Entertainment runs until 4:30 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults and $2 for age 15 and under.

• St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, at 1879 Applewood Drive in Orefield, holds Sunday Masses at 7 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

• St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, at 1028 Church Street in Fogelsville, holds Sunday Worship at 9:30 a.m.

• St. John's UCC Church, at 1027 Church Street in Fogelsville, also holds Sunday Worship. Call 610-398-7015 for times.

• St. Paul's UCC Church, located at the corner of Trexlertown Road and Church Lane in Trexlertown, holds a Traditional Worship at 9 a.m. and a Contemporary Worship at 10:30 a.m.
