Two Men Stole and Sold Farm Equipment, Police Say

Matthew Strain and Thomas Strain are charged with criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and conspiracy after allegedly taking and selling farm equipment.

Two men face multiple charges after an investigation found them having allegedly stolen farm equipment from a Fogelsville barn in June and subsequently selling it.

Upper Macungie Police said Matthew Strain and Thomas Strain stole farm equipment from a barn on the 9100 block of Haaf Road in Fogelsville on June 12.

Police said the owner of the farm and a witness saw the two men stealing the equipment from the barn.

Police said the pair allegedly sold the farm equipment for scrap metal at United Compressed Steel in Allentown.

Police investigated in the incident and charged the men Saturday with criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and conspiracy.

The men were arraigned at Lehigh County Central Booking Saturday, where they both posted $50,000 bail.
