Upper Mac Police Station Geared For Aug. 20 Completion
Supervisors want project completed by that date so movement can begin on starting new police force.

Upper Macungie supervisors say they want the finished by Aug. 20, so work can begin on transitioning from the
Director of Community Development Kenneth Moloney told supervisors that subcontractors will be expected to finish work by that date.
"We will be forging along with the department, so that we will be operational at midnight on New Year's Eve," said supervisor Sam Ashmar.

Earlier this year, Upper Macungie supervisors from the Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Department for monetary reasons.
Debate was contentious throughout a prolonged period where Upper Macungie paid the bulk of the money for the department without what they considered adequate voting rights on the Berks-Lehigh Police Commission.
