Breinigsville resident has served on the board since 2006.

“I raised my family here. This is my home,” Rader said. “I have seen this township grow from a rural community to what we have today. The voters honored me three years ago by electing me as township supervisor and allowing me to give back to the community that has been such a big part of my life.”

Rader has been employed by Upper Macungie Township since 1985, and is currently the township secretary. She served a six-year stint as a zoning officer and subsequently was assistant director of community development.

“What matters most to me is the future economic welfare of the township,” Rader said. “With revenues down, spending must be curbed and controlled. We cannot spend money we do not have or ask families who have had to tighten their belts to pay more in taxes. My goal is to strive for and maintain good government for the township.”

Rader was appointed to serve on the Legislative Committee of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors in 2010. She is also a Vice President of the Lehigh County Association of Township Officials.

Rader is an honorary member of Cetronia Ambulance Corps and has previously served as a dispatcher, emergency medical technician and CPR instructor.

Lehigh County municipal primary elections are slated May 17. The general election is Nov. 8.
