Martin Luther King Day: What's Open, What's Closed

Monday marks the celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. It is a federal holiday, however, many businesses throught the Upper Macungie area will be open.

Here is a listing of what's open and closed on Martin Luther King Day:

• Upper Macungie Township offices: Open.

• Garbage collection: Will take place.

• Parkland School District: Closed.

• Post Offices: Closed. There will be no mail delivery.

• Banks: Have the option to open. Many will close.

• N.Y. Stock Exchange: Closed.

• Retail: Most retail establishments will be open.

• Parkland Community Library: Open normal hours.

• Pennsylvania Department of Transportation driver's license and photo centers are closed. (Online services are available. www.dmv.state.pa.us)

• District Judge offices are closed.

• State and federal offices are closed.
