Woman Who Stole From Upper Mac Employer Cops Plea

Palmerton woman could serve up to seven years for taking $45,000.

A Palmerton woman charged with stealing $45,000 from her Upper Macungie Township employer has agreed to a plea deal of up to seven years in prison, according to The Morning Call.

The report said Paula Ann Serrano pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking Tuesday from her Fogelsville employer, Market Reader Pro, a consumer research company.

In exchange, several other counts including receiving stolen property, access device fraud, identity theft and theft by deception.

Serrano, a bookeeper, was charged with using the company's money to pay her credit card and car expenses from 2007 through 2009.

She will be sentenced next month.
