Writer's Group, School Concerts This Week in Upper Macungie

Good morning everyone. We're at the start of a new week, so let's see what's happening over the next few days in and around Upper Macungie.

1. Parkland Community Library hosts its monthly Night at the Movies Wednesday at 7 p.m.

2. Also at the library: Writers Unite, a group for aspiring authors, meets Thursday at 7 p.m. 

3. Upper Macungie is hiring a new police officer. Applicants need to file applications by Dec. 16. 

4. Parkland has a lot of school concerts scheduled this week:

• December 9, Springhouse Middle School Band Winter Concert at PHS 7 p.m.
•  December 9, Ironton’s 5th grade Band/Strings/Chorus Winter Concert at 7:00 PM.
•  December 10, Cetronia and Fogelsville 5th grade Band/Strings/Chorus Winter Concert at 7:00 PM at respective schools.
•  December 11, Jazz Band Winter Concert at Springhouse 7:00 PM.
•  December 11, Kratzer 5th grade Band/Strings/Chorus Winter Concert at 7:00 PM.
•  December 12, Parkland High School Orchestra/11th & 12th Grade Chorus/Chorale Winter Concert 7:00 PM. Senior Citizen dinner precedes event in PHS cafeteria at 5:30 PM.
• December 13, Schecksville 5th grade Band/Strings/Chorus Winter Concert at 7:00 PM.
