5. Today in History: On July 27, 1974 impeachment proceedings began against then-President Richard M. Nixon. The House Judiciary Committee voted to impeach Nixon in the face of irrefutable evidence that he tried to cover up the Watergate break-in. Nixon is one of only three presidents to be impeached -- the other two being Andrew Johnson in 1868 and Bill Clinton in 1998.
