A little information to start your day.

1. Weather: Don’t forget to pack an umbrella! According to the National Weather Service, there’s a 60 percent chance we’ll see some precipitation today. Highs will only reach around 69, so you may want to add a light sweater to your arsenal.

2. In Case You Missed It: School’s almost out, which means whole leisurely days for kids to sit around and complain there’s nothing to do. For the athlete in your home, sports camp may be an option. Writer Judy Zabrecky looked into available and compiled a lovely list. Check it out!

5. Today in History: On June 14, 1909, folk singer Burl Ives was born. While many know Ives from his voice-over work in the omnipresent "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" puppet/cartoon shown at Christmastime, he was also in classic films like "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and "East of Eden" and in the television series "Roots."
