American Library Association: Most Challenged Books of 2011
The list is out, and despite their controversial status, Southern Lehigh Public Library carries seven of the 10 books on the list.

Just in time to celebrate the American Library Association has released its "Top 10 Challenged Books of 2011" list. Though the may not carry all 10 (FYI, isn't on the list), here are the seven books or series of books you can find while perusing the shelves (courtesy of Mediabistro).Â
1)      ttyl; ttfn; l8r, g8r (series) by Lauren Myracle
Reasons: Offensive language; religious viewpoint; sexually explicit; unsuited to age group
2)      The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins
Reasons: Anti-ethnic; anti-family; insensitivity; offensive language; occult/satanic; violence

3)      The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie
Reasons: Offensive language; racism; religious viewpoint; sexually explicit; unsuited to age group
