According to the criminal complaint, “On the above date, [the arresting officer] present at the residence did observe, in plain view, drug paraphernalia.”

 

Name: Lauren E. Wicker

Charge:

1.     Retail Theft ($1,110.95 worth of items)

2.     Disorderly conduct

Summary:

On Sunday Feb. 13 officers were called to the Weis Market in Coopersburg. The store manager reported that one of his employees had seen a female leaving the store with a full cart of items without paying. According to the complaint, when the employee went outside to locate the woman, she allegedly found the woman, loading the stolen items into a car. The employee then confronted the woman, later identified as Wicker, at which point the female asked the employee to “not call the police”. When the employee told the woman that she was going to call the police, the woman left in the car.

Using the license plate number obtained by the employee, police were able to locate the vehicle, which belonged to the mother of Lauren Wicker. Wicker had borrowed the car from her mother. Wicker told her mother she had been caught stealing, but that she had returned the items. When confronted by the police officer, Wicker admitted she had taken the items without paying for them.

 

Name: Howard Thomas Williams

1.     2 counts of violating the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act

2.     DUI-Alcohol or Controlled Substance

3.     Tampering with or fabricating physical evidence

4.     Windshield Obstructions or Wipers

Summary:

On Jan. 25, a state trooper observed a vehicle travelling eastbound on I-78 with windows, as stated in the criminal complaint, “with a window tint in violation of PA vehicle code and PA inspection regulations.” After pulling over the car, the officer noticed the smell of marijuana in the car. The officer then asked the driver, later identified as Williams, if he had been smoking marijuana. Williams, who according to the criminal complaint had bloodshot and glassy eyes, admitted to smoking earlier in the day. Willams also admitted that a pipe and marijuana were in the coffee cup in the center console of the car. The officer found a pipe and a plastic baggie with a substance later identified as marijuana. A blood test taken at the Lehigh County DUI center indicated that the defendant had THC in his bloodstream, which is the metabolite for marijuana.

 

Name: Barry Robert Gerstenberg Jr.

Charge:

1. Selling or furnishing liquor etc to a minor

Summary:

Police were called to Links beverage to investigate an underage purchase. Employees observed a man, later identified as Gerstenberg, come into Links three times. One of the employees followed Gerstenberg and observed him exchange beer with a young person. The employee observed Gerstenberg walking to one car, while the young person walked to another and loaded beer into the trunk. The employees approached two youths as they loaded the beer, at which point the youths unloaded the beer and drove away. The employees wrote the license plates of the cars down, and an investigation confirmed the young people were under 21 years old.

Charge:

1.     Simple assault

2.     Harassment, Physical contact

Summary:

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to a home in Center Valley to talk to a man later identified as Kidd. Kidd stated that he had a verbal disagreement with his son because he was upset that his son’s [identified as Gregory Kidd] friends park in the driveway, blocking his access to the driveway. The police officer then spoke with Gregory Kidd, who said that his father was upset about a vacuum cleaner incident earlier in the day, and that when he returned to the home later that afternoon, his father had been drinking. Gregory Kidd then stated that after he pulled up, his father pulled him out of the car and struck him in the head numerous times. Gregory Kidd was able to free himself, get back in the car, and attempted to pull away. As he pulled out of the driveway, Gregory Kidd claims his father punched the windows of the car. A witness in the passenger seat of the vehicle confirmed Gregory Kidd’s account of events.

5.     DUI-general impairment (between .08% and .10%, .08 maximum allowed)

Summary:

On Feb. 19, police pulled over a white Chevy Cavalier with a woman, later identified as Snyder, driving. Snyder failed a basic impairment exam. Snyder then showed impairment over the maximum allowable amount of .08% two hours after the initial stop.
