10 a.m., Carmike's Summer Movie Series for Kids continues with a screening of "Happy Feet 2" at the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley cineplex, 2845 Center Valley Parkway, Center Valley. For $4, receive admission, a children's size popcorn, a drink and candy.
5 p.m., Hellertown Area Library 3rd Annual Book Sale Preview Night, Saucon Valley High School cafeteria, 2097 Polk Valley Road, Hellertown. A $5 donation will get you admitted to the book sale early. Proceeds benefit the friends of the Hellertown Area Library. The book sale continues Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Browse through more than 4,000 books, movies and recordings.
7 p.m., Southern Lehigh Public Library Program, "The Bugs of Blackwood," 3200 Preston Lane, Center Valley. Description: Benjamin, a bug, has just moved accidentally from the garden to inside the house—he needs to be rescued! By using experiments with fire, gas, air pressure, water, chemicals, and much more, see if Benjamin’s friends can save him before all hope is squashed!
7 p.m., Upper Saucon Township Parks & Recreation Commission meeting, township building, 5500 Camp Meeting Road, Center Valley.
