Current Rt. 22 Bridge Traffic Pattern Expected to Last Till December
The bridge commission said it needs time to install new connection cables on the Route 22 bridge across the Delaware River between Easton and Phillipsburg.

Drivers on the Route 22 bridge between Pennsylvania and New Jersey are still dealing with traffic slowdowns related to the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission's ongoing $30 million project to rehabilitate the bridge between Easton and Phillipsburg, as well as some of the surrounding exits and overpasses.
In mid-July, the DRJTBC diverted all traffic into two single lanes, closing the eastbound part of the highway from just before Fourth Street in Easton to the toll bridge in Phillipsburg.
That pattern is expected to be in place until late December.
The overall project is expected to take until early 2015 to complete, and will involve Route 22 being reduced to one lane during part of that time—six months this year and another nine months in 2014.
