Hopewell House Fire Investigated as Arson

Unoccupied house on Hopewell caught fire twice in March.

An unoccupied home on W. Hopewell Road that caught fire twice last month is being investigated as arson. 

According to Chief Robert Coyle, investigators are now classifying the blaze as an arson investigation. 

The  in a residential neighborhood on W. Hopewell Road in Upper Saucon Township.

The . Police and fire investigators haven't commented, but sources say that the second fire was most likely a "reignition" blaze caused by embers left in the eves on the roof. 

The home is on W. Hopewell between Lanark Road and Route 309.

According to the breaking news alert, the two-alarm fire started on the porch and spread to the rest of the house. 

Residents say the house has been unoccupied for almost a year, and is bank owned. 

According to records, the home is a two-bedroom, two-bath home built in 1950. Public records show that the home was purchased in 2006 for $205,000. Zillow estimates the home is worth approximately $171,200.
