Learn About Backyard Chickens at LCCC

Spring classes at community college include backyard chickens.

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will offer a variety of non-credit courses of special interest this semester.

A $30 class about backyard chickens will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Monday, March 12 at the main campus and on Wednesday, March 21 at Whitehall High School.

Participants will find out how to become part of the new "urban" chicken movement - whether you live in the country or in town. Five hens in a backyard pen can provide enough eggs for a family with no bother to the neighbors. Learn how to keep a flock healthy, clean and quiet while enjoying their personalities and beautiful feathers.
