Lesson Center's New Location Robbed

The Lesson Center's new music school in Trexlertown reports on Facebook that it was robbed of "every conceivable and movable item in the building."

, a music school with studios in Coopersburg and Bethlehem, reported on its Facebook page that its newest studio in Trexlertown -- which was set to open in October -- was robbed Sept. 15 “of every conceivable and movable item in the building.”

The incident was reported to police and a case was opened, according to . The center's new studio is at 7609 Kuhns Drive.

"It's really the students that are impacted the most," said Lori Roberts, one of the owners of TLC. "Insurance can help get back the lost equipment, but we can't recoup the time lost in lessons for students or the teachers who depend on the income."

TLC has 30 instructors at its locations in Bethlehem and Coopersburg. Roberts said the business has 350 students ranging in age from 3 to 72. The center teaches everything from popular instruments, such as the guitar and piano, to the accordion.

TLC in Trexlertown had not yet even opened when it was robbed. Its scheduled opening was Oct. 17, Roberts said, but now the center hopes it will be ready by the first week in November.

“Thieves helped themselves to everything from saws, hammers and painting equipment to amplifiers, drum kits and sound mixers, Roberts said. "They went so far as to take every last screw, nail and bolt.”

Because music equipment can fetch a lot of money if sold, TLC has created a spreadsheet of what musical equipment was reported as taken.

Roberts asks that anyone who notices any of the stolen items are now for sale to call police at 610-437-5252 or TLC at 610-868-1617.

"It was a blow, for sure," Roberts said. "But we've had great community support, and we'll be ready soon for our Trexlertown students."
