Letter to the Editor: Wright and Snovitch Protect Lower Milford, Others May Not

An open letter to the residents of Lower Milford

Letter to the Editor,

As a Lower Milford resident and a local physician, I am extremely concerned about the upcoming primary elections on May 17th.  For the past 7 years I have been fighting, along with my neighbors, a proposed quarry, asphalt plant and concrete batch plant here at the southern end of our township.  The incumbent Supervisors, Donna Wright & Mike Snovitch, both have proven records of upholding our township’s rural heritage and protecting the health, safety and welfare of our people.

I believe that voting in the team of Ted Zapach & Jeff Tapler would mean giving a green light and open up a fast track toward quarry approval in Lower Milford.  This would be devastating to the pristine, rural atmosphere that we all now enjoy.  According to a local 2011 Voter’s Guide, Ted Zapach stated that he will “cut the funding for defense of the quarry challenge which I believe is a loss in challenge”.

Quarry approval will destroy our precious environment, jeopardize our safety with increased dangerous truck traffic on our narrow windy roads, and increase our health risks with blasting activity generating dust and hazardous fumes.

Is this the future we envisioned for ourselves and our children?  What a travesty!

Please wake up Lower Milford before it is too late.  Come out and vote for Donna Wright and Mike Snovitch on May 17th.
