Lower Milford Man Will Plead Guilty to Videotaping Exchange Students
Michael Scott Scheeler withdraws motion; court date set for October.

A Lower Milford man accused of in his home will proceed with a guilty plea. Appearing Thursday before Lehigh County Judge Lawrence Benner, 43-year-old Michael Scott Scheeler requested the court withdraw an earlier motion challenging an initial guilty plea.
Scheeler, who has been in jail since at an Aug. 15 hearing, will now wait for an Oct. 20Â hearing to determine sentencing, as well as his classification under Megan's Law. If deemed a sexually violent predator, Scheeler will be on the sex offender registry for life. If he is determined to be a "sex offender" instead, he will be included on the registry for up to 10 years.
Scheeler is charged with six counts of child pornography and eight counts of invasion of privacy for making sex tapes of exchange students in his home. The students were from Korea, Spain and the United States. He faces up to 44 years in prison and a $125,000 fine.
