Book Sale, Musikfest Opens: This Weekend in So. Lehigh
It's the first weekend of August 2013. Here's a snapshot of what's going on in and near the Southern Lehigh area.
Friday, Aug. 2
10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Hellertown Area Library 3rd Annual Used Book Sale, Saucon Valley High School cafeteria, 2097 Polk Valley Road, Hellertown. Browse more than 4,000 used books, movies and recordings. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Hellertown Area Library.
4 p.m, Musikfest 2013 opens at various sites in north and south Bethlehem. Find lots of information about the free nine-day festival in Patch's online guide.
Saturday, Aug. 3
9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Lehigh Growers Market, Rt. 309 and Landis Street, Coopersburg
10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Hellertown Area Library 3rd Annual Used Book Sale, Saucon Valley High School cafeteria, 2097 Polk Valley Road, Hellertown. Browse more than 4,000 used books, movies and recordings. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Hellertown Area Library.
Sunday, Aug. 4
9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saucon Valley Farmers' Market and Relay for Life of Saucon Valley's 3rd Annual Duck Derby in the Saucon Creek, Water Street Park, Hellertown. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Buy ducks to place in the race for $5 each (or $25 for a "six-quack"). Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
