Olympus Lays Off Workers, Upper Saucon Affected

Layoffs come after a May announcement layoffs would happen to control costs

Reports rolled in late last night that optics and camera manufacturer Olympus laid off workers Wednesday. A spokesperson for the company confirmed that the layoffs include some positions at the company's Center Valley campus.

The spokesperson went on to say that Olympus would not confirm the number of layoffs and how many came from the local campus.

Over 900 people were employed at Olympus headquarters, located behind the , when the announcement was made.
