Penn State Lehigh Valley Launches New Lecture Series

The 'Six @ Seven' series will feature in-depth lectures presented by a campus faculty member held at 7 p.m. for six consecutive weeks. The first lecture takes place on Oct. 17 in Center Valley.

Penn State Lehigh Valley Continuing Education will launch a new learning opportunity for the community in October. The "Six @ Seven" series will feature in-depth lectures presented by a campus faculty member held at 7 p.m. for six consecutive weeks. The first lecture takes place on Oct. 17 at the Lehigh Valley campus and is open to the community. The cost of the series is $100.

The inaugural speaker is history instructor David Longenbach, who will present "America's Modern Wars." The one-hour lectures will begin by looking at the Civil War and progress through WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and the first and second Gulf conflicts.

"We have had great success in offering lecture-style programming in the past, particularly with our SAGE 55+ series. 'Six @ Seven' will allow participants of all ages to delve deeper into a particular topic," said Diane McAloon, assistant director of continuing education. "We are committed to providing programs that open doors for those who seek distinctive learning opportunities for professional and personal growth."
