Penn State's U. Saucon Campus Welcomes 350 New Students
A New Student Welcome was held at the Penn State Lehigh Valley campus in Upper Saucon Township Thursday.

More than 350 new Penn State Lehigh Valley students began their fall semester and their lives as Nittany Lions at the school's Upper Saucon Township campus Thursday, a press release said.
About 250 students were scheduled to attend a New Student Welcome that included mentor groups with campus faculty and student leaders, college meetings, and a welcome picnic at noon.Â
Marcellus Taylor, an empowerment speaker and 2012 graduate of Penn State Harrisburg, was the day's keynote speaker.Â

"Taylor was inspired by the belief to uplift college women of color, and founded the Fresh Women Project which helps female students develop leadership skills through co-curricular activities, coupled with empowerment workshops on relevant topics that woman face today," the news release said.
