PHOTOS: Coopersburg Fire Company Represents in Labor Day Parade
When raindrops started to fall Monday afternoon, colorful umbrellas and ponchos allowed spectators to continue enjoying Pen Argyl's 77th annual Labor Day parade.
OK, so it did rain on Pen Argyl's 77th annual Labor Day parade, but parade-goers didn't let a little moisture ruin their moods.
And it certainly didn't stop the from rolling out in style.Â
Sponsored by Lookout Fire Company #1, the parade marched off at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 3. After fire whistles , children -- with bags and buckets in hand -- quickly lined the borough's sidewalks. The candy, too, was on its way.

Volunteer fire departments from Monroe County, Northampton County and New Jersey were also represented.
All of the departments were vying for a variety of awards, like "Best Tanker," "Best Rescue Truck" and "Best Ambulance." The top prize, "Best Overall Fire Company - Marching and Equipment," totals $2,500.
The parade also featured the Green Knight Marching Band, Bangor Slater Marching Band, the Blue Eagles Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps, and bagpipers.
Lookout Fire Company #1 started celebrating Labor Day on Aug. 31, when Weona Park was filled with live entertainment, rides, games, food, beer, Bingo and more.
The community was invited to an impressive fireworks display Saturday night.
Proceeds from the festivities benefit Lookout Fire Company #1.
