Poets (and Non-Poets) of Upper Saucon, Unite!

In honor of National Poetry Month, Upper Saucon Patch asks...who can write a poem in 140 characters or less?

April is National Poetry Month, and we're getting into the spirit of the season with our first reader write-in!

We're throwing down the gauntlet and challenging you to tell a Southern Lehigh story in poetry...in 140 characters or less.

To kick it off, we'll treat you to some of our own, not-so-great poetry. I owe all my inspiration to sports practice....

Wind blows cold

across the plains near Hopewell.

A glimmer

of spring

in the sky,

before another gust of wind drives warm thoughts away.

So don't overthink it, put it down on paper, and send it in! Every participant gets a Patch prize for entering. You can post it in comments, put it in the sidebar on the front page, or email it to me at Elizabeth.Rich@Patch.com. UST/LM Patch reserves the right to remove any inappropriate, obscene or offensive poems.

(P.S. Almost all the LV Patches are participating...let's show them what you've got!)

Let the games begin!
