Police Warn: Break-Ins in Upper Saucon Over the Weekend

Several vehicles along Vera Cruz Road in Upper Saucon were broken into; police warn residents to lock their doors.

Upper Saucon police are urging residents to take extra precautions after a series of car break-ins this weekend on Vera Cruz Road.

The break-ins involve five cars, all of which had doors unlocked at the time of entry. The break-ins occurred Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Burglars took GPS systems, golf club sets and other items left in the unlocked vehicles.

"People need to lock their car doors," said Upper Saucon Police Chief Robert Coyle. "This sort of event happens, but leaving your car open increases the chances your car will be the target [of a break-in]."
