Rare Piece of Limeport History for Sale

A Fegely's Dairy metal milk box marked "Limeport, Pa.," is currently listed for sale on Craigslist.

For those who treasure the history of Limeport, Lower Milford Township, a metal porch milk box for sale on Craigslist for $45 may be too tempting to pass up.

The Hellertown seller who's listed the rare find says it's probably from the late 1950s or early 1960s, and was designed "to actually hang on the side of a house or building to keep the milk or cream bottles cool as they were dropped off."

The box bears the hand-painted words "Fegely's Dairy" and "Limeport, Pa." in red block letters.

"The painted advertising does not look worn by age, but usually with this finish, the stenciling didn't fill in the gaps of the textured exterior," the seller writes in the description of the milk box. "The interior of the lid has the fabulous FEGELY's DAIRY in raised lettering."
