Road Construction Project Begins on 309

"Betterment Project" scheduled to be completed in August, expect nighttime delays

From PennDOT:

PennDOT Engineering District 5 today announced that a project to improve PA
309 in Upper Saucon Township and Coopersburg will begin Monday, Feb. 20.

The project calls for the resurfacing of PA 309 between Center Valley
Parkway in Upper Saucon to Fairmount Street in Coopersburg. Other work includes base repair, shoulders paving, guide rail upgrades, new pavement markings, minor bridge rehabilitation, with other miscellaneous items.

Beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 21 and throughout the duration of the
project, motorists should expect nighttime lane restrictions in both directions of PA 309 Mondays through Fridays between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Also, on Feb. 20 through Feb. 24 there will be daytime (9 a.m. to 3
p.m.) lane restrictions in both directions of PA 309. There may be
additional daytime lane restrictions during the project; updates will be sent as
needed.

Construction is expected to be completed in August. Schedules are weather
dependent and subject to change.

James D. Morrissey Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the
$2,747,450 project.
