School Board Candidate Appointed Assistant Principal in Neighboring District
Coopersburg resident Jim Grabusky has accepted a position in the Minersville Area School District.

This fall, Coopersburg resident Jim Grabusky will be heading to a new school district during the day, but hopes to work closer to home at night.
Grabusky, who is running for on the Southern Lehigh School Board this fall, has been appointed the new assistant principal for the Minersville Area High School and Elementary Center.
Until recently, Grabusky had been a science teacher at Catasauqua High School. This past year, all that changed. "I was furloughed this past year," said Grabusky in a phone interview. "But I'm really lucky that I had a principal certification already. It gave me options."

Grabusky was cautiously excited about what the new position means for his school board campaign. "I understand that [the school board] is a huge time commitment, and I'll have some time this fall to try the new schedule out."

However, Grabusky feels that there are some advantages to the new position. "I think [the new position] could give me a great perspective as a school administrator."
