Second Round of Olympus Layoffs Hits Upper Saucon

Unspecified number of workers let go at headquarters in Southern Lehigh

For the this summer, Olympus Corp. has announced layoffs at its headquarters in Upper Saucon Township. According to an article in the Express Times, representatives of the corporation said in an email, "We must take strategic action of this kind to continuously enhance our service to customers, control costs and achieve process improvements."

The Morning Call reports that the company employed more than 900 workers as of earlier this year.
