St. Mike's Kicks off Catholic Schools Week

From "Boo-boo Bears" to Bingo, St. Mike's students celebrate faith and community with a weeklong celebration.

The following informational schedule is courtesy of St. Michael the Archangel School. The middle school is located at 5040 St. Josephs Road, Coopersburg, and the primary school is located at 4121 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem. For more information about St. Mike's, visit www.st-mikes.com

* On Tuesday, Jan. 31, primary school students will be stuffing bears beginning at 1pm. The handmade bears were sewn by the Crazy Quilters quilting guild. After stuffing, finished bears will be donated to local hospitals to be used as "Boo Boo Bears" for children receiving emergency care.

* On Wednesday, Feb. 1, after celebrating the academic achievements of middle school students, St. Michael the Archangel School alumnus Adam Ballek, currently serving as financial director for U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent (R-15), will address the middle school student body.

* On Wednesday, Feb. 1, St. Michael the Archangel School parent Roey Ebert will conduct a writer's workshop with primary school students beginning at 9am. Ebert is the author and illustrator of the newly released book, "Put It Back, Jack."

* On Friday, Feb. 3, beginning at 8:15am, middle school students will prepare bagged lunches for the homeless and needy who are cared for by New Bethany Ministries in Bethlehem.

* A parent-student variety show will be held on Friday, Feb. 3 beginning at 1:30pm at the primary school.
