St. Mike's Students Headed to State Science Competition
Seventh- and eighth-grade students from St. Michael the Archangel School in Upper Saucon Township recently participated in the 78th Annual Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition in Easton. Some are advancing to the PJAS states May 13-15.

Seventh- and eighth-grade students from St. Michael the Archangel School in Upper Saucon Township competed in the 78th Annual Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) competition on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Easton High School.
The competition is designed to stimulate and promote interest in science through the development of research projects and investigations completed by the students.
St. Michael the Archangel students each created a PowerPoint presentation of their study and used overhead slides to present their experiments -- grouped by subject matter -- to judges.

Hundreds of middle- and high-school students participated in the local competition, and students who earned first awards at the PJAS regional competition have been invited to participate in the state competition May 13-15 on Penn State's main campus in State College.
The following St. Michael the Archangel School students were honored with first awards in the regional competition and will continue on to the state competition: Arianna Boccardi, Olivia Deller, Luke DiNardo, Samuel Glavin, Meghan Grys, Clare Hasselbusch, Sarah Petzold, Andrew Spease, Lia Talago, David Troyan and Matthew Troyan.
