U. Saucon Officials to Discuss ATV Ordinance Proposal Thursday

The Upper Saucon Township Board of Supervisors' Planning & Zoning Committee will discuss a proposed ordinance that would place restrictions on ATV use in the township.

Editor's Note: An earlier published version of this story indicated that Thursday's meeting would involve the Upper Saucon Township Planning Commission. In fact, the Planning & Zoning Committee of the township Board of Supervisors is meeting. The Planning & Zoning Committee is made up of two Upper Saucon Township supervisors—Steve Wagner and Jack DeMatos. The committee reports back and makes recommendations to the full board of supervisors to consider. We apologize for any inconvenience the error may have caused.

A potentially contentious issue will be discussed by the Upper Saucon Township Board of Supervisors Planning & Zoning Committee when it meets at 5 p.m. Thursday.

According to the township's website, "the purpose of the meeting will be to review and possibly make a recommendation to the [Upper Saucon] Board of Supervisors on a proposed ordinance regulating the use and operation of ATVs in the township."

The Planning & Zoning Committee discussed the proposed ordinance—which would limit when and where ATVs can be ridden—at a meeting last month.

Residents on both sides of the issue, including some who live in or near the Curly Horse subdivision off West Hopewell Road, expressed their views at that meeting.

Those same residents and other interested parties are being encouraged to attend Thursday's meeting, which will be held in the township municipal building, 5500 Camp Meeting Road, Center Valley.
