VFW Memorial Day Event Draws Crowd to Remember
Through speeches, songs, and a 21-gun salute, Solehi pays tribute to our military.
The heat of the morning didn't keep a large crown from assembling outside to take part in the annual Memorial Day commemoration held at in Coopersburg. The program, which began at 10am on Memorial Day, included speeches by mayor Tim Passhaus, representative Justin Simmons, and US representative Charlie Dent. Southern Lehigh High School Band play old patriotic standbys and VFW members honored the fallen with a 21-gun salute.
VFW members took time to thank Skip Link for his help making the event possible, though Link pointed to other sources to thank. "There are two people who will lay down your live for you. Jesus Christ and a serviceperson," said Link. "Make sure before you bite into your burger later, you bow your head and thank them both."
